Bob Marvel's 1911 Custom Pro 22 Conversion

My shop, Marvel Custom Pistols offers an accuracy model of the AA conversion. The conversion will be re-barreled tuned and tested to shoot Sub .800” Groups at 50 yards. Also, My Custom Shop will build lowers for the AA/Marvel conversion to go on. And will only be offered directly from the My Custom shop. At this time, I will not offer to do the accuracy job on models purchased from AA or other sources. This may change at a later date.

Custom Pro 22 conversion

Marvel Custom Pro Features on the AA/Marvel Custom .22-1911 Conversion: -Sub .800” Accuracy at 50 Yards -Improved Functioning -Improved Strength -Last Round Lock Back

One polymer 10 round Advantage Arms magazine (NOT KIMBER) is included. These magazines will work great with the MP conversion, but, the MP magazines do not work with the new Advantage Arms/Marvel conversion. If the new magazine is to be used with the MP conversion, the lock-back tab needs to be ground off so as to not damage the slide, it then will also not lock back on the AA conversion.

STI and PO magazines are also available.

A fully adjustable rear sight comes installed onto the conversion. If you would like to replace the iron sights with a scope rib, or If you would like both styles of ribs, please let us know when placing your order.

Sub-one inch groups

The units will be tested with fairly common ammo whenever possible. After shooting tens of thousands of rounds of every known .22 ammo made though my original design and through this design, I found the following:

Eley was by far the best over-all ammo that I ever tested, but after shooting over 43 different lots, I came across only 10 lots that would produce exceptional 50 yard groups. The chances of someone having those same lots was unlikely and, although it “proofed” the gun, it still did not tell the end user what groups he/she could expect with more affordable ammo such as Wolf Match, Aquila, Eley Pro Sport, Etc. under their conditions for So, rather than using .22 ammo that is out of reach by lot number or out of reach by expense, I choose to find acceptable ammos that will print sub-one inch and that will print well with most .22 ammo.

There will be “add-ons” which I will post info on at a later date.

There have been requests to fit the unit onto customer’s pistols. The unit does NOT require that it be fit to a specific 1911, however, we will try it on your gun if requested, but, we will have to charge for this service.
